  • Rob Andrew OBE
  • Rob joined the Salama Fikira Group following a three year appointment as the UK Regional Counter -Terrorism Advisor. His army service included the SAS. He managed the UK’s regional peacekeeping capacity-building programmes in Kenya, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Sudan, Rwanda, Tanzania and the Indian Ocean islands. He was leader of the IGAD Verification and Monitoring Team supporting the early peace process in Southern Sudan.
  • Conrad Thorpe OBE
  • Conrad was born in Nairobi, Kenya and is fluent in Kiswahili. He served in the Royal Marines and the Special Boat Service gaining considerable counter-terrorism and counter-narcotics experience in various land and maritime operational environments. He returned to Kenya in 2005 to launch Salama Fikira. His military experience has enabled Salama Fikira to deliver maritime crisis response and maritime security escort solutions in the Somali Basin, Gulf of Aden, Western Indian Ocean and Arabian Sea.
  • Other personnel have experience in the British, Kenyan and US armed forces and in global commercial markets.

    • Planning and conducting multi-national covert investigations and operations
    • Specialised defence industry and conflict research and reporting

    • Managing conflict, security and demobilisation issues during the transition from war to peace
