- Safe Passage at Sea
-
The Situation - A client needs to send ships through a potentially dangerous sea passage
-
Our Task - To provide an unarmed security team that will provide additional protection and advice for the ship’s Captain.
-
Our Action
- Prepare a security survey of each vessel
- Produce a detailed report and propose a plan with emergency protocols
- Advise and guide our client's operations during the transit including establishing additional watches and course selection
- Be prepared to assist the crew to manage an attack by pirates
- Ensure that the team and crew are ready to employ non-lethal defensive measures
- Motivate the crew of the client’s ship to recognise the importance of safety procedures and provide them with the opportunity to implement them
- Liaise effectively with the ship's Captain so that he is fully supportive of the defensive measures which may have to be employed
- Ensure that the vessel implements the appropriate levels of alertness for the Bridge watch-keepers and introduce anti-piracy watches for the whole of the transit period
- Maintain correct, efficient and effective liaison with international maritime forces and institutions to ensure up-to-the-minute situational awareness and ensure rapid support in the event of a crisis
-
The Result -
- The implementation of an effective set of emergency protocols that are easily accessible to the client and the ship’s crew for safe passage guidance on all sea operations
- A material improvement in the ability of the crew to identify sea dangers and respond appropriately and effectively
- The application of precautionary measures on every voyage mitigating the effect of any dangerous confrontations
- The objective is a successful and safe transit
