• Experience - Case Studies
  • Our experience in the region on land, sea or in the air,
like our clients' risk, is diverse.
  • Our Support to International Organisations
  • The Situation
  • An international organisation is sponsoring peace talks
  • Our Task
  • We are needed to provide military-technical advice and support for the design and implementation of cessation of hostilities/cease fire mechanisms, military monitoring, demobilization and Security Sector Reform
  • Our Action
    • Analyse the military situation including militias and other armed groups, their relationship to social infrastructure, size, strength and dispositions of forces for use during negotiations
    • Provide support to the opposing parties to discuss military-technical agreements through advisory seminars and participatory workshops
    • Advise on the design and implementation of cease fire monitoring mechanisms
    • Provide a bespoke monitoring and verification mechanism that reports to the parties to the peace process, and manages its logistics and operational control
    • Advise on disarmament, demobilisation and the reintegration of ex-combatants, security sector reform and building community security to ensure that they can be reflected in a peace agreement, how they can complement each other and how they can be subsequently achieved
  • The Result
    • All the parties to the peace process will be able to conceive and agree on a functional and appropriate military-technical agreement such as a cease fire
    • An appropriate monitoring and verification process will be established, possibly with direct operational and logistic support from us
    • The parties will be in a position to produce functional and appropriate demobilisation procedures linked to the cease fire and linked to future Security Sector Reform and the provision of community/local security
    • Security decision-making will be designed to take into account future international peacekeeping engagements by the UN or a regional body with a clear understanding of what that is likely to look like
    • Peace process and post-conflict recovery processes related to the security environment will be linked, effective and cost-effective
